Built in 1964, this original SARAO jeepney was originally brought over as part of a Philippine exhibit from 1998-2007. Jeepneys are rapidly disappearing in the Philippines and this rare historic cultural icon has now come to San Diego. Restoration efforts are being made so this can be made available for display at special events, private parties, and eventually offering short distance tours of San Diego's Filipino American community sites.

We’re excited in returning to be part of the Coachella Valley Filipino Festival and Varraco Coffee Roasters for sponsoring our visit. The festival runs from 11AM - 6PM at Downtown Park in Palm Springs, CA.

THANK YOU!

We're launching a campaign to restore this 60-year-old jeepney for future generations to enjoy. We hope to bring this classic back for community festivals, local tours of historic Filipino sites, and private events.
Retired? Time to spare? Automotive skils? We welcome the opportunity for individuals and businesses to sponsor the costs for rebuilding the engine, electrical, and braking systems and paint restoration for modern use.
